What great timing ! The Philadelphia Phillies are doing great and we have on our next show, Randy Lerch. Randy was a mainstream pitcher for the Phillies in the late 70s and early 80s. On September 30, 1978, Lerch hit two home runs in a 10-8 win that clinched the National League East Division Championship. He was a member of the 1980 World Series team and then after that great accomplishment he was enmeshed in a amphetamine scandal with the team. Years of drinking and pills caused Randy to be diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver 2016. Thankfully, Randy is in long term sobriety and involved in many great causes.
